Whilst not strictly social media, Anon is a movie where its society is all interconnected by an Augmented Reality system called the Mind’s Eye. Every citizen is connected, can see who others are by looking at them, store memories digitally and recall them as required. Crime is all but non existent, just some of the great advantages of such a connected community system.
But what happens when such a connected and ingrained technology is hacked? When what you see is no longer really what is there? Memories removed, and new memories implanted? Welcome to Anon. A 2018 Film currently on Netflix with a dystopian view of how this technology could go wrong. It is hard to not relate just a little bit and have a belief that such technology could be reality and not fiction in some near future.
